Heath scanned his surroundings. Upon noticing no one was looking in their direction, he uttered to Ali in an undertone, “Ali, it's precisely because we've been acquainted for a long time that I'm offering you five spirit coins per carcass. If you were to sell them to others, they might not even dare to buy them! The people from Cyan Village have spread the word. They claim their hunting party has gone missing and was killed by someone on the Demon Wolf's territory! Therefore, the people of Cyan Village have decreed. If anyone comes to sell a large number of Demon Wolf carcasses, we cannot accept the goods and must report to them. They claimed these Demon Wolf carcasses must have been stolen from them. I'm already taking a huge risk, buying these carcasses from you for five spirit coins each. I suggest you dispose of these carcasses as soon as possible. If others discover and report it to Cyan Village, Rock Village will be in danger.”
Ali was stunned, listening to Heath's explanation. He had initially thought they could make a fortune with so many Demon Wolf carcasses. However, now, it seemed he was overly optimistic. He didn't anticipate the members of Cyan Village would act that way.
The other villagers also looked very disappointed, especially Emily. She had planned to use her share of money from selling the Demon Wolf carcasses to hire Brutus to treat her grandmother's eyes. Unfortunately, with the current reduced selling price, she wouldn't receive much money.
“Those Cyan Village b*stards! They should all be killed,” Percy muttered in anger.
“Mr. Leeson, can you please increase the price a little?” Ali pleaded with Heath.
“I can't. If you don't want to sell, then forget it.” With that, Heath was about to return to his house, but Ali called him back. “Mr. Leeson, I'll accept the deal. Five spirit coins it is, then.”
Ali had to compromise. If Heath didn't buy the carcasses, it was even more unlikely that others would.
After exchanging the Demon Wolf carcasses for spirit coins, everyone hung their head, appearing downcast and upset.
Jared was taken aback upon learning that. I can't believe Cyan Village is so influential here! All these people are afraid of Cyan Village!
Ali didn't distribute the spirit coins among the group after receiving them. Instead, he looked at Emily and said, “Emily, let's use this money to hire Dr. Weiss to treat your grandma's eyes.”
Emily was momentarily dazed after hearing that. Then, she immediately shook her head and replied, “Ali, everyone risked their lives to earn this money. I can't just take all of it. We should divide it among all of us.”
