Catina looked at Jared, smiling faintly. “You care so much about that little demoness. Do you perhaps fancy her?”
“No!” Jared shook his head.
“Since you're the one who found it, I can give the little demoness a few. However, you must exchange something for these.”
“Exchange what?” Jared was unsure what Catina wanted.
“What do you think?” Tenderly, Catina caressed his cheek.
Immediately, Jared understood her intentions and said resignedly, “One fruit for one more time in bed with me, I see. Very well. Give two to Ms. Lothian first. I commit to two more such moments with you in the future.”
Catina chuckled. “I see you've gotten smarter now. I'll give her two, then.”
As she spoke, she tossed two fruits to Rosetta.
Holding the two spiritual fruits, Rosetta was overjoyed, but she wasn't aware Jared had exchanged those two fruits with his body.
“We should leave immediately. The arcane array is broken, and the light earlier has no doubt caught someone's attention,” said Catina.
However, Jared didn't leave at once. He gently touched the seemingly withered tree, absorbing the celestial energy within through its trunk.
Despite the tree's apparent condition, the celestial energy within it remained thick.
“What are you standing there for? Let's go!” exclaimed Catina when she saw Jared hugging the tree instead of moving.
“There is celestial energy within the tree. I want to absorb some of it.”
“There are many magical items in the Celestial Battlefield, yet you're clinging onto this tiny amount of celestial energy. You're useless, you know that?” Catina gazed at Jared helplessly.
“You can't expect a mule to work without letting it rest. How can you ask me to keep on moving if I don't absorb some celestial energy? I'm exhausted right now.” Jared was displeased.
Rolling her eyes, Catina uttered, “Fine. Absorb the celestial energy to your heart's content. We'll camp here today.”
Following that, she swiped her finger across the tree, creating a hole.
