“Don't worry, Mr. Chance. I know what to do,” Phoenix responded confidently.
She didn’t understand what Jared was trying to say, and Jared didn't explain any further. Instead, he simply focused on the person from the Jantz family. Jared wouldn't let it slide if they were to use any underhanded attacks.
As a fellow member of the Warriors Alliance, Luke announced the start of the fight loudly in the arena, “Thank you all for participating in this battle. In the Warriors Alliance, any disputes that couldn't be mediated will be resolved in the arena with fists. However, there will be no mercy in the arena. No one will be allowed to complain, whether injured or dead. This is the rule of the arena!”
He continued, “This time, the Jantz family and the Phoenix Regiment have a disagreement on the issue regarding the Whitaker family's property. Thus, Zachariah and Phoenix will be fighting it out in the arena and the victor shall be in charge of the issue. Now, let's welcome our fighters to the stage!”
“Hang on!” Just as Luke finished, Zachariah jumped into the arena.
“What is it, Zach?” Luke asked.
Zachariah nodded before glancing at the crowd. Then, with a deep voice, he declared, “In today's battle, I won’t be just fighting for the Whitaker family's property. The Warriors Alliance has been established for more than ten years and it has always been lacking a leader. This is not beneficial to the growth of the Warriors Alliance. Hence, I have decided to take advantage of today's opportunity to become the leader. If anyone has an opinion, I welcome you to challenge me in the arena!"
The audience gasped upon hearing what he said, and they started to murmur among themselves.
“Zachariah, what is the meaning of this?”
Bane immediately stood up from his seat and asked with a grim expression.
After all, he would never agree to Zachariah becoming the leader of the Warriors Alliance because the Schmidt family would lose their standing in the alliance should the latter succeed.
Luke's expression turned grim as well. He turned toward Zachariah in anger. “Zach, the four of us have been managing the Warriors Alliance all these years and we have always been at peace. But now you're proposing to be the leader of the alliance all of a sudden? You should curb your greed, lest you lose your current status if you fail!”
Just then, Phoenix got up from her seat as well. She leaped into the arena and started throwing insults at Zachariah. “Zachariah, you sure spout some big words, huh? You should take a good look at yourself in the mirror. Are you even qualified to be the leader?”
