Once inside the room, anything done within its confines would go unnoticed, and any words spoken would remain unheard.
Jared was quite puzzled. I'm just here to sell some celestial crystals. Is there really a need to make this all seem so mysterious? There's even a cloaking formation!
Before long, a somewhat portly middle-aged man entered the room and took a seat across from Jared and Mia. “Mia, have you gotten the celestial crystal?”
“Mr. Hickman, I almost had it, but then it was snatched away from me. I nearly got caught, too,” Mia said regretfully.
“Since the celestial crystal isn't in your possession, what brings you here?” Billy Hickman furrowed his brows, his voice carrying a note of reprimand as he spoke.
“Mr. Hickman, even though we didn't get that celestial crystal, I still have other celestial crystals here.” Mia spoke, pulling out the celestial crystal that Jared had given her. She then continued, “And this friend of mine also has celestial crystals that he'd like to sell to you.”
Upon hearing Mia's words, Billy finally noticed Jared. Subsequently, he began to scrutinize Jared.
Just as Jared was starting to wonder why Billy kept staring at him, suddenly, a wave of spiritual sense unexpectedly enveloped him.
Jared didn't want Billy probing, so he immediately blocked Billy's spiritual sense and even scanned the latter instead.
When Jared's spiritual sense entered Billy's body to investigate, he furrowed his brows slightly. However, it didn't take long for them to relax again.
It was because Jared discovered that deep within Billy, there was surprisingly a trace of human aura.
Beast City didn't allow any races other than the beast race to enter.
Although, on the surface, Billy exuded the aura of the beast race, deep within him, a human race's aura was cleverly concealed.
At that moment, Billy grimaced. His eyes were firmly fixed on Jared.
