She didn't know how to face him anymore. Not because she had done something wrong, but because she felt that his heart only belonged to Joan.
"Did you do it? If you did, you should admit your wrongdoing and apologize to them," Dustin suggested in a dispassionate tone.
Apologize to who?Joan or Larry? Why should I apologize? When Joan abandoned me with Della, why didn't she apologize to me?
Abelyn snorted with a mocking expression. She insisted, "I didn't do anything wrong. Why should I apologize?"
How much more stubborn can she be?Does she not feel any shame at all? Staring at her, Dustin was filled with disappointment.
Abelyn oh Abelyn, I was wrong about you. Clenching his fist, a cold glint flashed in Dustin's eye.
"Do you think that just by denying it vehemently, they can't do anything to you? Let me burst the bubble for you, Abelyn. Joan knew that you were responsible since the beginning. It was just that she tried to keep it a secret. When you were talking with the kidnapper on the phone, she had heard everything!" Dustin bellowed as he had lost his patience with her.
Suddenly, Abelyn was stunned. She had not expected Joan to have known all along. No! That can't be!How did she overhear the conversation?
Abelyn tilted her head and blinked as if she was deep in thought. Finally, she recalled that the man had indeed called her when he had captured Joan.
The next moment, Abelyn collapsed onto the sofa in a daze. It's over. It's all over.
"What now? Are you feeling guilty now? Are you ready to admit it? Abelyn, what happened between you and Joan for you to commit such a cruel act on her?" Dustin quickly asked.
There had to be an explanation for what she did as Abelyn wouldn't have harmed Joan for no reason. He knew Abelyn well and was certain that she wasn't the kind that was capable of such cruelty.
