"Larry, Joan, I need to get going," Jessica announced and proceeded to leave.
Oh Jessica, you're no match for me.Don't even get any idea. Caspian is mine! The young lady glanced at her retreating figure, her eyes glinting with menace.
An awkward silence settled in the ward. Larry ignored them both while Joan gazed out of the window without saying a word.
Caspian grabbed Lisa's hand and led her out of the ward.
"What are you doing? Stop, it hurts!" she yelled and struggled to free herself from his grip.
It hurts?Ha! Caspian glowered at her in indignation as the agony he felt was a hundred
times more than her discomfort.
"What do you want from me? I've returned the one million to Larry. I'm penniless now. You won't get anything from me!" he declared.
What?He returned the one million to Larry?ls he a fool? Why would he do something this stupid?
She studied Caspian doubtfully as fury rose in her heart.
No, I need to calm down. Calm down! Lisa took a deep breath to cool her head off. Larry gave Caspian one million previously, so he might give more in thefuture.l can't leave Caspian now! I need to cling to this money tree.
She hurriedly put up an act. "Caspian, what are you talking about? You must've gotten it wrong. I don't want your money. I love you, not your money."
That's bulls*it!She loves me instead of my money? Who is she trying to bluff? She and her friends are nothing but snobs. True love doesn't exist to them. All they want is money. They will willingly go with anyone who is rich until they get dumped.
"Stop talking nonsense. I shall make things clear today," Caspian declared. "The only woman I love is Jessica Zimmer. No matter what happened between us, I will not lay my hands on another woman. You should just give up."
