A man's severe voice came from the middle of the row after Megan's self-introduction.
Beside him, Adam did not even lift his head to look at her. He seemed like he could not wait to get it over with.
“I'm Mia's older sister.” Adam finally looked up briefly.
“Didn't we say we're not casting rookies?” The investors were unhappy about it. They felt this was a compromise of their production quality.
They cast their questioning glare at Adam, wondering what he was thinking. Their reaction was understandable. Megan did not have an appearance that stood her out among the others. Besides, Mia's performance did not give the judges a good impression.
“Ms. Rockford, I think we're done for the day. You may leave now. We'll let you know the result soon,” Adam suddenly said. He did not seem keen on letting Megan have a go.
Megan was dumbfounded. If they had already predetermined a candidate, Megan could totally understand why Adam asked her to just give up, but they were the ones who asked her to come in.
To the director, he might have the luxury of choosing from a pool of talents, but to Megan, this was her only chance, and she would not give in so easily.
“Three minutes. Give me three minutes, Mr. Kennedy.”
There was no legitimate reason for Adam to deny her a small favor like this, so he relented.
“Make it quick.”
Adam disregarded the disapproving glares of the investors and waved his hand dismissively to hurry her up. He actually did not want to give her another chance, but somehow, he could not resist her compelling gaze.
