After Divorcing my Captain Husband (Chloe and Michael) novel Chapter 534

Chloe helped Michael up. Ever since their divorce, they had both stayed in the same city and kept running into each other.

She had wanted a clean break, but their social circles overlapped too much, making it impossible to avoid him. She knew this situation wasn't right.

Maybe if she left, he would realize his feelings for her were just an illusion, driven by stubbornness rather than genuine affection.

It would give her more time to focus on her life, which would be a win-win situation for both of them.

Turning away, Chloe called out, "Tom, could you help me get him home?"

Tom sighed, got out of the car, and opened the door. "Mr. Shawn, please sit down for a moment."

No sooner had Michael sat down than his stomach churned, and he bolted to the roadside trash can, vomiting violently.

Even in his drunken state, he still tried to keep clean.

But the trash can wasn't exactly convenient, and despite his groggy efforts, he ended up messing up his clothes.

Chloe and Tom stood there, helpless. They watched as Michael began to strip off his clothes on the street.

Chloe exclaimed, "Michael, are you out of your mind?"

It might have been nighttime, but plenty of people in their neighborhood were still coming and going. If anyone saw him, he'd be trending on social media the next day.

Chloe grabbed his hand, but he seemed to have the strength of an ox.

Michael said, "My clothes... They're dirty. Disgusting."

Chloe rolled her eyes, thinking, "Great, now you care about that!"

With his drunken strength, Michael had already shrugged off his jacket and tossed it into the trash can.

Standing to the side, Tom wanted to help but was at a loss, turning to Chloe with a helpless expression. "Ms. Nelson, maybe Mr. Shawn could stay at your place tonight?"

Michael refused to budge, and no one could move him. To make matters worse, he was now trying to take off his pants.

"Chloe... Chloe," he kept calling, driving Chloe up the wall. Just as someone rounded the corner, she hurriedly dragged him into the hallway.

With Tom's help, they managed to get Michael upstairs. Once Chloe unlocked the door, Michael collapsed onto the sofa. Tom wiped the sweat from his forehead with a handkerchief. "Ms. Nelson, I'm sorry for the trouble. I'll come by to pick Mr. Shawn up in the morning."

Chloe glanced at Michael, who sprawled on her sofa. She nodded with resignation.

After Tom left, she noticed Michael had already removed his pants. She gathered his dirty clothes and tossed them into the bathroom.

"Cold..." Michael mumbled.

Alcohol made him especially sensitive to the cold. It was already autumn, so Chloe fetched a blanket from the guest room and draped it over him.

Watching his discomfort, she couldn't help but think back to the past three years.

Michael rarely got drunk, but it had happened before.

She would make him lemon juice back then, but he would turn his nose up at it, preferring to suffer through the night rather than take a sip.

So now, Chloe took a shower and went to bed with no intention of making him lemon juice.
