Polly was seething with anger, causing her feathers to puff up. Frustrated by the lack of progress, she flew off the balcony in a huff.
Bettany was about to bid farewell to Ivan when she realized that Lilly hadn't returned yet. She promised to inform Lilly about his visit once she came back.
Just then, Polly burst through the door and headed straight for the second floor.
Bettany was taken aback and murmured in disbelief, "Polly?"
Confused, she looked at Polly before turning to Ivan. "Am I mistaken? Didn't Polly just come back and go upstairs earlier?"
Ivan was also puzzled and suggested, "Maybe she flew out from the balcony?"
However, Bettany found it strange. Why would Polly go out on the balcony for no reason?
Polly stormed into Lilly's room with determination, kicking open the door.
With a wave of her wing, she pulled out a weapon from her specially-made storage ring.
"Radish spirit! Come out and face your demise!" she exclaimed.
Radley was shocked and screeched, "Holy crap! You managed to break in?!"
This was the Crawford Mansion, which had a barrier to prevent monsters or ghosts from entering when its Master was present.
Could it be that this bird spirit was even more powerful than its other Master?!
Impossible! That was absolutely impossible!
"Well then, prepare to meet your end!" Polly declared.
Radley immediately responded to the challenge.
Polly wasted no time and fired her weapon, spraying bullets at Radley.
Ivan had just reached the second floor when he saw Polly firing away with extreme prejudice.
Bewildered, he couldn't help but tilt his head and stare at Polly.
That weapon looked just like the real thing, only smaller. He had no idea where she got it from.
Radley promptly yelled, "Master! There's a chicken spirit in the house!!"
The corner of Ivan's lips twitched as he quietly said, "That's Lilly's pet...Polly."
Radley fell silent, astonished by the revelation. That bird is a friend?
Ivan continued, "Polly, this is Radley. It's also Lilly's pet."
What was his was also hers. According to that logic, Radley was naturally Lilly's as well.
Polly felt a sense of alarm as she thought, D*mn! Friendly fire?
That still doesn't change the fact that this ally is too freaking annoying! she thought. Despite their dislike for each other, they strangely understood one another.
Nonetheless, Radley knew it had to maintain a friendly front as it said, "So... You're a friend. My apologies. You can't blame me for reacting violently. That bird just looked like it was up to no good."
Polly sneered, "Is that right, 'friend'? If that's the case, you can't blame me for my actions either. This radish just looks so unfortunately deformed."
Just then, someone shouted, "Lilly's home!"
Ivan's eyes flickered with an imperceptible light as he immediately turned and went downstairs.
Polly and Radley locked eyes the moment Ivan left them alone.
Without hesitation, they started hurling insults at each other.
Polly whipped out her weapon and struck Radley on the head.
Enraged, Radley pounced at Polly and sat on her face.
The two began fighting once again.
Meanwhile, Bettany was slowly making her way upstairs when she heard that Lilly had returned.
Just a moment ago, Bettany had been lamenting, "Ah, I'm getting old... I can't even climb these stairs... Who is Polly arguing with?"
But in the next second, she did a complete 180 and exclaimed, "Lilly is back?!" Her eyes sparkled with joy as she dashed downstairs. It was as if she had consumed a cup of youth potion, and the old woman from earlier was nowhere to be seen.
Ivan stared dumbfounded as Old Mrs. Crawford ran faster than anyone else.
