Unexpectedly, Alicia realized that everyone on the table stopped dead when she withdrew her spoon. Over a dozen pairs of eyes were fixated on her as if they were watching a freak show.
Instantly, she was shocked and confused. What did she do? She had not even used her spoon to eat yet!
Hallie Clements, who was Frederick's half- sister, suddenly sneered.
"Oh my, Alicia, how did you become Frederick's wife? Didn't you know that he's germaphobic and didn't like others to touch his things? Besides, he never ate carrots."
Immediately, Alicia's head buzzed and she felt dizzy. What were the odds of it?
In the meantime, Penny Carter added fuel to the fire too. She shouted, "Hurry up! Change all the plates for Master Frederick!"
Everyone was waiting for Frederick to lash out and overturn the table. Yet surprisingly, he picked up the roasted vegetables gracefully and stuffed them into his mouth along with some carrot cubes.
It was a huge slap in the face!
The whole family was dumbfounded at this instant.
In the meantime, Mrs. Clements snapped, "Don't talk while eating! Pay attention to your food!"
Mrs. Clements gave a sharp remark but she narrowed her eyes and appeared satisfied as she stared at Alicia and Frederick.
After that, Alicia dared not make another move.
After finishing dinner peacefully, everyone was asked to stay for the night. Alicia was summoned by Mrs. Clements to have a conversation in private after holding casual conversations. Meanwhile, the rest of the family members dispersed.
Mrs. Clements told Alicia about Frederick's past and asked about their relationship. Basically, Alicia told the truth but she kept quiet about being pregnant. She was unsure whether Frederick was going to tell his grandmother, therefore she was cautious and did not spill the beans. Following that, she nodded obediently when Mrs. Clements urged her to have children.
It was not until ten at night that she was led to Frederick's room by the servant.
As soon as she closed the door, a cold voice said suddenly, "Throw them away!"
