A waiter, dressed in nothing but a glittery thong showed Eden and her friends to their VIP booth. His butt cheeks flashed different shades of neon from the strobe lights above as he leaned over to take their cocktail orders.
Lydia, always the naughty one and never able to resist temptation, smacked his ass cheekily. He turned to her, flashed her a megawatt smile as he said something in Spanish.
The only Spanish Eden knew is 'mojitos' and 'tapas', so whatever the waiter said to Lydia, flew right over her head.
From the way her friend blushed though, she figured it was something filthy or hot or both.
Still, as she watched José jot down their orders, Eden couldn't help but feel bad for him, there was nothing cute or nice about being groped and fondled.
"Lydia!" She frowned at her friend still ogling José like he's a piece of luxurious wagyu beef or something just as exotic.
"What? If they offer the service, we should use the service," Lydia flicked her newly planted hair extensions—courtesy of her new sponsors— over her shoulder and crossed her legs.
José disappeared from view, presumably to get their drinks.
"So what are we celebrating? Your new hair?" Cassandra shouted over the loud music as she glanced around the VIP booth. It was a first for all of them, sitting in the lap of luxury. The rest of the club looked very different from way up here in the comfort of their plush sectional couches and neon cube coffee tables.
Both Sienna and Lydia spent a few minutes gushing and fawning over Eden's new hair even though she'd posted a selfie in the group chat after her disastrous appointment with Franco.
"It looks amazing, Edie," Lydia squealed and blew air-kisses at her.
Cassandra agreed, nodding her head furiously. "It's a head-turner for sure! But I doubt that's why we're here."
"Yeah, stop keeping us in suspense!" Sienna was practically shouting, and Eden turned to hush her up.
"Gosh, you are so classless," she said jokingly. "You can't be so loud up here."
"Fine, but can you share already?"
"And you'd better not be pregnant again!" Lydia warned, and they all glared at her.
"Am I the virgin Mary or something?" Eden asked.
"Clearly, not anymore!" Lydia fired back and stuck out her tongue childishly.
José returned with their tray of colourful cocktails, stopping what could have quickly turned into a huge argument resulting in Eden storming off.
She loved Lydia, but sometimes her friend never knew when to shut up.
Eden pulled out her new contract from her bag with a huff and passed it to Cassandra since she's the least excitable and wouldn't cause too much drama.
"What the heck?" Her friend whistled softly, her eyes almost popping out of their sockets as she scanned the contract.
Legs crossed demurely, Eden leaned back in her seat, sipped her virgin mojito and enjoyed the refreshing minty taste almost as much as she relished seeing the look of shock and bewilderment on her friends' faces as they each took a turn to look through the document.
"Oh my fucking god!" Sienna was the first to recover from the shock. She fanned herself with the pages, her face beaming with glee, "You are fucking rich!"
"Yeah baby, half-a-millionaire status!" Cassandra high-fived her.
Eden laughed, feeling very chuffed with herself. It might not be her dream job, but she was the most financially secure now of the four of them.
No more poop looks from her friends and sad frowns and the constant badgering about her life plans.
Her life was starting to come together nicely now, and she needed another virgin mojito to celebrate!
"Come here, you!" Lydia cried as she pulled her in her arms and squeezed her till Eden thought she'd crushed her bones. "I'm super proud of you, and from now on I'm Aiden's big sister, and you have to take care of me."
