Begin Again novel Chapter 40

The minute they were alone, Liam threw his glass across the booth, it hit the wall partition and splintered into crystal shards on the floor, splashing brown liquid everywhere.

He watched the mess, but his rage did not cool, and he was not satisfied.

He grabbed the still-full bottle and was about to subject it to the same fate when Julian sprung to his feet and snatched it away from him.

"Whoa, dude chill! You know how damn expensive this is!"

"I paid for it," Liam grunted and eased back in his seat, his heart still pounding out control, his anger roaring in his ears way louder than the music blasting from the overhead speakers.

"What's gotten into you, and why was Laura so pissed off?" Matthew asked and waved at their waitress—a Jade or some other stripper name Liam forgot as soon as she introduced herself when they first arrived— to bring them an empty glass.

The lingerie-clad blonde bombshell, whose tiny bra was struggling to contain her double Ds, pranced over with a fresh glass, and an offer of a blowjob as she sat on Matthew's lap and began her dance routine.

Liam took the glass and rolled his eyes. He did not sign up for a front-row seat to an impromptu lap dance.

Matthew whispered something filthy to Jade, her cheeks turned bright red, matching her underwear set as she giggled and hid her face in his neck like a blushing bride.

Irritated out his head, and in no mood to watch pornhub live, Liam cleared his throat and jerked his head towards their booth's exit.

"Leave," he told her quietly.

When she didn't comply immediately, he pulled out his wallet and fished out a few notes.

"Is this enough for you?" He demanded as he threw the money at her.

Jade looked at Matthew and then at the cash strewn on the cube before reaching a decision. Matthew's dick was not worth missing out on all that cash. She picked up the notes and blew a kiss over her shoulder at his cousin before she waltzed off to make someone else's day.

"Seriously dude, what the heck was that?" Matthew growled at him when they were alone. "Did you just cock-block me?"

"I saved your life and your bank account. You can thank me later," Liam, shrugged and poured himself a drink. His hands had stopped shaking, and his chest didn't feel so tight anymore, he was very relieved he's not having a heart attack like he was starting to suspect.

"What's this business you haven't touched Laura in two years?" Julian had to bring up the one thing Liam was hoping they'd all forget. And if amnesia wasn't an option then at least they could all pretend it never happened.

"So?" Matthew pushed, refusing to let him live down his humiliation.

"I don't want to talk about it!" Liam grumbled and stared off into the distance.

He was highly pissed.

And it all had to do with Eden McBride.

Again.
