Begin Again novel Chapter 89

Eden was still recovering from Liam's announcement when he stunned her again with more revelations of his big plans for their future.

"I'm too old to be running around and meeting up in hotels, and I sure as hell won't be waking up in your dinky little house."

"Excuse me?" Eden seethed.

Did he just insult her house?

Did he know how much money she's poured into her place, all that love and time?

"My house is hardly little or dinky!" She said, dumping her fork on her plate. "I've worked very hard to do up my place. So for you to insult it, it's truly disheartening, Mr Anderson."

"It's Liam. No more 'Mr Anderson'," he reminded her. "And I'm sorry, it wasn't meant as an insult. I should have said it's not as big as this place and won't be comfortable. This place is perfect."

"Perfect for what? Perfect for who?"

"For us, of course!" Liam groaned and impatiently ran his hand through his hair, his eyes narrowing in her direction. "Did you not hear what I said earlier. I want you. And I know you want me. So let's quit the games and skip to the good parts."

"No!" Eden bunched her hands on her lap. She was very close to losing her shit all over him. "We are not skipping to any good parts, Mr Anderson, because there are no good parts."

Liam fell silent for a moment, a pensive look in his eyes as he fixed her in place with his intense stare.

Eden was happy to watch him watch her, and she was determined to outsit him in silence.

Soon though, she grew restless, and she began to squirm and fidget in her chair.

"Give me three months. Ninety days. That's all I ask," Liam said at last as he poured himself another glass of champagne.

"To do what?" She asked, baffled by his request.

"To make you happy, Princess," he said.

The earnestness, the sincerity in his eyes was so palpable Eden could almost taste it in her mouth, and at that moment, dazzled by his sweet words and silver tongue, she desperately wanted to scream 'yes' and give in to his seduction.

She was very close to telling him she's ready to be pleased and has been for a while now. Two years to be exact.

But then she remembered the reason for their two-year separation.

That reason was probably rolling around her living room floor right now, reading his books upside down and laughing his head off at repeats of PAW Patrol and singing along to Baby Shark.

If Aiden wasn't in the picture, she would have gladly taken Liam up on his offer.

But their son was very much in the picture, and they couldn't move in with Liam for obvious reasons.

"So?" Liam took her hand and kissed it. "What do you say? I know I can make you happy, Princess."

"Why? Why do you want me to move in so badly?"

"Because I need you close to me." He tilted his glass at her. "I want you so bad it's driving me nuts. You are all I think about. When I'm in meetings, in a room full of people, working, or out to dinner with clients— it doesn't matter what I'm doing—you are all that consumes me."

Her heart lurched to her throat, and the butterflies in her stomach reignited to life at his words. She was stunned breathless by his confession, and for an insane second, she wanted to dance with joy at the realisation that she's not the only one with these feelings. She's not alone in this need that's almost driving her to madness. But—

"What happens when this fascination wears off?" She asked the one question she didn't want an answer to but had to know all the same because the reality was, Liam would tire of her at some point. Once he's fixed and could fuck anyone he wanted, where would that leave her?

"Why would it wear off? Have we not established you're the only woman who can get me off?" He asked, scratching his head, a puzzled look in his eyes. "Anyway, we're getting sidetracked, and it's not even the point of this conversation. The point is, we can do hotels if that's what you want—"

"If that's what I want?" Eden shrieked. "Are you out of your mind?"

Liam ignored her outburst. "Here's where we are, Princess. We both know you are the only woman who turns me on. I've decided to suspend my search for a cure because, quite frankly, you are my cure."

If it wasn't so insane, Eden would have found him hilarious and somewhat romantic in his forthrightness.

She loved a man who knew what he wanted, and Liam seemed very decisive about his plans, and it was a total turn-on for her. But she couldn't ignore the insanity of his proposal.

"Are you even listening to yourself?" She asked. "A month ago, you beat my heart to pieces, and now you want me to move in with you?"
