Josie found herself forced to tilt her head back, feeling the sharpness of the knife's tip.

"Who said we are the same kind of people?"

"Isn't that true?" Heather lost all the obedience she usually showed in front of others. Her face was stern as she drawled, "We both grew up in the lowest social class. Why is it that you're so fortunate to have met Dexter first, to live a life of luxury, and even use the status of Mrs. Russell to lecture me?"

Heather's face lit up with anticipation, almost obsessively. "Even if he does find out, what can he do? I am the eldest daughter of the Olsen family, his savior in his youth. Could he really retaliate against me?"
