Bound to My Billionaire Ex novel Chapter 24

Chapter 24 Rejoyla Was in Bad Luck

Jason took out the phone trying to call Rejoyla, but he didn't get through. He and Brady took a look at each other. Because of the tacit understanding they developed over the years, without further ado, Jason went to the monitor room, and Brady grabbed the waiter and began asking.

Jason walked faster and faster, and at last, he started running. His breathing was rapid and he was almost out of breath. He thought to himself that he had to hurry up for Rejoyla was timid, and that she must have cried in fear now. He had to hurry up.

By the time Jason arrived at the monitor room, Brady had already done his job. The manager with beads of sweat on his forehead stood at the door, and as soon as he saw Jason appear, he immediately walked forward hunched over. He said, "Sir..."

"Shut up! Show me the surveillance video!"

Jason pushed away the manager in the way and stood before the screen, searching for the video himself. Then Brady also arrived. He was panting slightly, which showed that he also ran over. He said, "I asked the waiter who served food, and he said that Rejoyla had taken a phone call before she went out. Let's check the surveillance video at the hotel gate."

An astute security guard nearby pointed to the red button in front of Jason, saying, "Sir, the one on the left is the gate surveillance."

Jason moved his slender fingers, fixing his eyes on the screen before him. In a short while, a woman in a light green shirt and beige pants appeared on the screen. Jason's eyes brightened. He zoomed in on the image and made sure that the woman was indeed Rejoyla. "Only someone with fair skin like her could carry off such colors," he thought to himself. Then he realized that this was not the time for such a thought. He shook his head sharply trying to get rid of the inappropriate image in his mind.

He then gazed at the image that was zoomed in: Rejoyla was holding a phone to her ear, looking like she was talking on the phone. It went to show that what the waiter said was true.

The video continued: Rejoyla looked around, seemingly looking for someone, then she left the hotel gate step by step till she was out of the range of the surveillance camera. She never returned. Brady frowned and asked, "Is this the only camera in front of the hotel? Isn't there another one a little further away?"

"No, there... There isn't," stuttered the manager in a cold sweat, "There was one originally, but it was broken. The maintenance said they were going to fix it today, but they haven't..."

"What do you need them for? Fire them all!" Jason interrupted the manager's nonsense impatiently. He knew that finding Rejoyla was the top priority, so now was not the time to play the blame game.

Jason took out his phone and dialed a number. He said, "Go check the surveillance of the shops on both sides of the Crown Palace Hotel. I'll send you the photo later. Pay attention to vehicles coming and going. Also, tell you men to play it safe."

Brady thought for a moment, and then he took out his phone, saying, "I should have my men check who was on the last call with Rejoyla. It's a long shot because if the person was trying to hide himself by using a public telephone..."

"Even a public phone can be traced back to its source. With security cameras around and my people, I don't think he can get away!" Jason said in a low voice, trying to suppress his rage.

Brady suddenly felt a jolt while holding his phone. He felt something was up, but he worried the safety of Rejoyla more, so he didn't think much, and then he lowed his head and continued to look for her.

While Jason and Brady were looking for her in a big way, Rejoyla was stuck in the narrow trunk. She had just woken up from the sleeping drug and when she opened her eyes it was pitch black. Rejoyla was so frightened that she almost shouted out, but then she bit the tip of her tongue hard to restrain the impulse to shout out. While calming her pounding heart, she moved her wrist and breathed a sigh of relief. Fortunately, they didn't tie her up, otherwise, it would be even more troublesome.

She moved from side to side for a moment, and based on the continuous movement, she judged that she had been knocked out and thrown into the trunk.

Joy frowned and pondered for a moment, but couldn't figure out who she had offended and why she would be treated like this.

However, she couldn't just sit and wait, for she didn't know what terrible thing would happen to her next. The same darkness made her involuntarily think of that dark night, and fear thereupon followed her like a shadow. Rejoyla forced herself to forget. She whispered to herself, "Fear not, fear not. It's okay. Jason is going to come to my rescue. Jason... Where are you?"

The speeding car suddenly stopped. Rejoyla quickly wiped away the tears from the corners of her eyes, and covered her face with her hair to shield her eyes. Otherwise, if the trunk opened, her eyes might not be able to withstand the stimulation of the strong light and she would give herself away.

Sure enough, after a while, the trunk was opened. Rejoyla could feel a gaze lingering on her face, cold and gross. Luckily, the gaze didn't stay for too long. It disappeared in a short while. Otherwise, Rejoyla couldn't guarantee that she wouldn't be exposed. Her body was so stiff that she almost screamed.

Then Rejoyla felt that she was picked up. There was a foul smell around her nose, and an obscene voice rang from her ears.

"Baker, the chick has a nice figure! She is going to be sent away anyways, so why don't you let me have some fun with her first?" Rejoyla jolted a little, but because the man holding her was thinking of something erotic, he didn't notice Rejoyla's subtle movement.

The person called Baker replied in a low and hoarse voice, "No, there is an order from above. The woman must be sent away immediately, no stalling. You'd better get a hold of yourself, or else I'll cut off your family jewels!"
