Chapter 101
The morning sunlight was warm and gentle. Alyssa woke up in her soft bed and did a full–body
stretch under the blanket. She stretched her arms as far as she could with her bottom lifted. Her
demeanor was like that of a drowsy cat.
She changed into a white athleisure outfit and went rowing at the lake in the backyard as usual.
Sean had freshened up early in the morning. He stood by the lake with a water bottle in his left
hand. A clean towel hung on his right arm. He waited for Alyssa to be done.
“The videos of Betty harassing our hotel employee have been taken down from the internet. Even the trending keywords were gone.” Sean handed her the white towel and thoughtfully opened the
bottle cap for her.
He continued, “There is some online traction on the scandal right now, but it will die down in no
time. I don’t think anything will come out of it.”
That’s unsurprising. The Beckett Group’s PR and legal machinery are the best in Solana City. Plus, Jasper Beckett has taken over those departments.” She wiped away the sweat from her
forehead and panted lightly.
“Did Jasper Beckett remove the videos and the keywords?” Sean’s eyes widened.
Alyssa tossed her hair and downed the water with a gleam in her eyes.
Her neck, reminiscent of a swan’s elegance, showcased a delicate and graceful arc. She made his
heart flutter with a simple act of drinking.
“Jasper Beckett is now seeking advantages and minimizing his losses.” She wiped away the water droplets on her lips with the back of her hand. She smirked. “If I had known him through business, I wouldn’t have fallen for him at all.”
She met the wrong person at the wrong time. To sum it up, her relationship with Jasper was a decision that went against her better judgment and morals.
“How do you plan to fight back?”
Alyssa’s innocent and divine eyes seemed to twinkle with slyness. Her dark eyes flickered as she
arrived at an idea.
“The employee is still at the hospital, isn’t she? I’ll inspect the hotel and attend a meeting. After that, you’ll go with me to the hospital to check on her.”
The female hotel employee at the Mercy Hospital had been transferred to an ordinary ward. A few hours later, she was shocked to see Alyssa, the general manager, visiting her. She scrambled up
from her bed to greet Alyssa.

Alyssa forced her to rest. With a warm smile, she said, “Ella, just lie down. Don’t be nervous. You’re
in recovery. You need to take care of your health first and foremost.”
“M–Ms. Alyssa! I’m sorry to trouble you!” Ella lowered her head in shame. “I never knew I was sick with this illness. I really didn’t know. It was all my fault…”

“I checked your medical history. This was your first time suffering from the symptoms. The
symptoms did not surface before this. You did not knowingly hide the truth from us. So, please
“It’s alright. You suffered a work injury. The hotel has submitted the claim on your behalf.”
“Ms. Alyssa, thank you…” Tears of gratitude and sadness flowed down Ella’s cheeks.
