Chapter 109
Throughout the journey back home, Alyssa did not utter a word. She looked spent, just like a
broken robot.
Jasper’s unforgiving words felt like someone had poured a bucket of cold water over her. She was shaking in rage from head to toe. Why had she never noticed that shameless and vile side of him?
Love might not guarantee happiness, but it would certainly turn you blind.
“Ms. Alyssa, I have played the video per your instruction. Look, Betty is fighting her two friends!”
Sean showed her the video on a phone screen.
She glanced at the screen and saw the three women clawing at each other in a horrible catfight.
“Tsk tsk. Cat fights are the worst. Ms. Betty is doing pretty well. She’s still holding up even when she’s fighting the two of them. It’s a pity she didn’t train for wrestling.” Sean chuckled with glee.
“Hmph. They’re slapping each other and pulling each other’s hair. Nothing interesting about
those amateur moves.”
Despite that, Alyssa couldn’t take her eyes off the screen. She secretly enjoyed watching it. The fight among the three women was oddly stress–relieving.
“Did Jasper delete all the photos for real?” Sean still hadn’t gotten over how Jasper had taken
advantage of Alyssa by holding her waist.
However, he reminded himself that Jasper and Alyssa must have engaged in more intimate acts during their marriage of three years. He had no right to feel angry about their physical contact.
“He has definitely deleted them. He might dislike Betty, but he needed to protect the reputation of the Beckett Group. To put it in a nice way, he’s focused on the big picture. But you could also say
he’s heartless to his family.”
Sighing, she unlocked her phone. She was surprised that Jasper had remembered her passcode. Perhaps, he accidentally glanced when she was unlocking her phone one day and memorized the
passcode until now.
Still, that meant nothing. Jasper, who had never loved her truly, would never figure out the
meaning behind the passcode.
It was the date when Jasper saved her from the mountains thirteen years ago. That was also their first encounter. She lamented, thinking that her love and affection probably meant nothing to him.
“What do we do next? Ms. Betty will not listen to us now that we lost our bargaining chip to Jasper.
Sean sighed sullenly.
