Chapter 145
That incident had caused Alyssa pain for a very long time,
Two years ago, she lost her child in an accident. Since then, she had been consistently avoiding shops that sold infant products.
She stayed away whenever the lople of children came up. She couldn’t even stop herself from breaking down when bables appeared on television
It was Christmas Eve, and she had driven to the beach with Newton as they wanted to look at the snow displays there. They had a car accident on the way there.
However, Alyssa had saved him first before checking on her own lojales. They were rushed to the hospital soon after.
At that point in time, the rest of the Becketts had gone overseas to celebrate, whereas Jasper had joined Liana for a holiday.
Alyssa had withstood the immense pain in her belly while waiting for Ben to turn up. She ended up collapsing, thoroughly exhausted.
“Madam Alice, you’re bleedingl
She vaguely remembered bleeding profusely down there, the warm sensation bringing with it a deep terror. Only then did she realize she had been pregnant, Later, they found out she had been pregnant for two months. 1
But she had been stripped of the chance to be a mother before she’d even seen the child. It was hers and Jasper’s child.
1–I’ll have Mr. Jasper come home right away!” Ben had frantically pulled out his phone, but Alyssa stopped him before he could make the call.
“Please please don’t She had been terrified amidst the despair of the situation. She sobbed weakly as she said, “Jasper he doesn’t know. He’d just get mad at me if he knew. So please, keep this a secret from him
Back in the present, Alyssa clutched her belly as if the pain from that night was recurring.
Seeing this, Colene hugged her tight, with Mandy and Lyla following suit. The three women formed a protective blanket around Alyssa as she relived the pain from those years ago. 1
“I’m so sorry. It’s all my fault! I won’t bring it up again, Alyssa. I won’t! Please don’t cry,” Colene mumbled.
“I should feel happy for the child, really,” Alyssa rasped, a bitter smile surfacing on her face. “Better to stay away from a lifetime of witnessing its parents‘ broken marriage and never getting its father’s love.”
Alyssa didn’t get any sleep that night.
When she closed her eyes, that familiar sight of blood would appear in her mind. She remained curled up in bed until morning, trying to hold onto her sanity while memory ravaged her mind.
After losing her child, she spent the days crying until she had no more tears left.
Alyssa said quietly to herself, “I’m so sorry, baby. Mommy’s so sorry. I don’t know If I’ll ever be able to see you in this life again.”
“Alright,” Lyla bearned. “I’ll pack some for Sean too.”
