Crises in Love novel Chapter 55

My nerves tensed instantly, and I quickly demanded, "Are you saying the woman with Jaylan?"

"Hold on…" Catherine said, then the call ended abruptly.

Holding the phone with a puzzled expression, I speculated about the situation Catherine might be facing on the other side.

Not long after, she sent me several pictures.

I flipped through them eagerly, and upon seeing them, my throat tightened. The face on the screen was all too familiar—it was Marissa Collin.

I had hired Marissa in my company's third year. To be exact, she was my junior in college and joined my company right after graduation.

She was beautiful and clever, but most notably, she had a silver tongue. The first time she met me, she said, "Ms. Wilburn, it's such an honor to finally meet you! You're my idol! You started your own company before even graduating, and quickly became a leading entrepreneur in Goldenvale Town. You're practically a legend at our school. I'm here to learn from you and I hope you can provide me with this platform to grow alongside you and your company!"

I wasn't particularly fond of her flattery, but she was indeed the best among those who applied, so she stayed.

She quickly worked her way up from sales to become my secretary, in only eight months.

In the pictures, Marissa looked more mature and attractive than she did seven years ago, her figure even more enticing, exactly Jaylan's type.

In the photo, Jaylan was affectionately taking care of Marissa, their actions intimate, his eyes full of love. It was clear that Jaylan's attitude towards Marissa was different from others, his charming eyes showing deep affection.

Marissa was naturally holding onto his arm, looking like a true leading lady.

My hand, holding the photos, began to shake involuntarily, my teeth clenching involuntarily.

I had thought that she was a trustworthy right-hand woman. Before leaving the company, I had intended to let her assist Jaylan. It turned out she was indeed a good secretary, even assisting Jaylan in his bed.
