Crushed Affections (Dominic and Bella) novel Chapter 447

That evening, Dominic called to say he wouldn't be home for dinner. He had a dinner engagement—one of those he couldn't say no to.

Bella could hear the voices of Victor and Sean in the background. If Dominic was dining with the father-son duo, it made sense that he couldn't turn it down.

She didn't hold it against him. Sometimes, being understanding and accommodating was necessary. Men didn't appreciate women who came across as overly controlling or unreasonable.

As Bella sat down to eat alone, her phone buzzed with a message from Sean. "Do you want Dominic to come home right now?"

She stared at the screen for a moment before realizing his intent. Her reply was simple, "You can try sending him home."

Within seconds, Sean called. His voice was low but carried a playful undertone. "What are you doing? I'm so bored. Do you want to meet up for a drink later?"

Bella immediately knew that Sean was doing this in front of Dominic, likely at the dinner table.

The faint murmur of others talking could be heard in the background, but it wasn't chaotic. There wouldn't be any noisy commotion in a gathering of high society elites. Sean kept his voice low but just loud enough for Dominic to catch every word.

Bella played along effortlessly. "Sure. When?"

Sean smirked on the other end. "How about now? I'll be outside your neighborhood in 20 minutes. Call me when you're downstairs."

After that, he hung up, tossing a deliberate glance at Dominic, who sat across from him. Then, Sean stood and politely addressed the group. "Sorry, something just came up. I'll have to leave early. Please, enjoy the rest of the evening."

His sudden display of manners was unusual, and even Victor didn't stop him.
