It was not Mrs. Lewis who had rear-ended the car in front of hers, but Duncan who hit a lorry from behind. Although the vehicle behind Duncan slammed on the brakes, it still rear-ended Duncan’s car. Mrs. Lewis was not involved in the collision as she stepped on the brakes in time.
