“How should I trust you?” Selena was no fool, for she knew Hades was a capricious man; he could be jolly one moment, but a furious demon the next. By now, Selena knew Hades to be an illogical and irrational person, as well as an oddity. That was how Selena saw him.

“So what if you don’t trust me?”

His reply made her heart sink. He’s playing me for a fool! But he’s right. So what if I don’t trust him? What can I do even if he reneges on the promise again? He could make and break me.
