The next day, Zoey hung around the office until the afternoon, as she had scheduled a meeting with a talent agent from another entertainment firm. It was about a celebrity’s job-hopping.

A leading star from this firm had his eye on hopping over to the Star Movie Group.

The actor in question was a seasoned vet, with a career that stretched back over a decade. His TV series roles had etched a permanent spot in countless viewers' hearts. Online, the expiration of his contract had become the subject of much speculation.

But what no one knew was that the star had already been in touch with Star Movie Group, which had agreed to offer him a hefty signing bonus.

Still, this was a deal she needed to handle in person.

When the appointed hour arrived, Zoey grabbed her purse and headed out. John was already waiting at the hotel, mentioning that Arthur was catching some Z's next door.

"Zoey, I've ordered some takeout for Arthur. Would you mind knocking on his door to wake him up? He had a night shoot yesterday, but I told him you were coming. He should be up by now."

Prior to this, Zoey had already negotiated with his current company. Since she was offering a significant signing fee, plus they had some dirt on them, the top brass were inclined to release him. Arthur was a pretty laid-back guy, not one for unnecessary drama.

Nearly twenty years in the spotlight, and his Twitter following was pushing eighty million - a true evergreen celebrity.

The hotel rendezvous had been chosen to dodge the paparazzi's prying lenses. The security at the hotel was top-notch, with nary a pap successfully infiltrating.

Zoey rose and approached Arthur's door. He had just woken up, assuming it was his own agent, and answered the door in a bathrobe.

Seeing Zoey, he paused, taken aback.

Zoey, equally startled, briefly halted her outstretched hand. Clearing her throat, she said, "Once you're up, come on over. You and your agent can go over the contract."

Arthur ran a hand through his hair, quickly regaining his composure, "Alright."

Zoey got back next door. Good thing was the signing proceeded swiftly. John, representing the other company, fired off a couple of sharp questions, all deftly parried by Zoey. With her lawyer arriving just in time, the deal was soon hammered out.

Arthur left without his own agent; John was still with the old company. So, Arthur hopped into Zoey's car, and they headed for Star Movie Group to finalize his upcoming schedule with the execs.

As the three arrived outside the hotel, Arthur shook hands with John. After a collaborative stretch of four or five years, it was unfortunate that their visions no longer aligned, necessitating a contract termination.

Once inside Zoey's car, Arthur exhaled a sigh of relief. Zoey glanced at him through the rearview mirror as she drove.

"Did you wrap up last night's shoot?"
