Cornelia brought a tray with four dishes to Zoey's room.

The room was still occupied by Elvis and Wilma, who hadn't left yet.

Cornelia had to leave by evening, so she quickly explained things to Zoey.

"I won't have any days off for the next month, and the doc says you can start chewing some soft stuff. Wilma and I will help you sit up. You know, it's kinda awkward for Elvis, being a guy and all."

At that moment, Elvis coughed twice and gestured toward the corridor, "Maybe I should step outside for a bit."

Wilma's eyes darted mischievously as she grabbed his arm.

"Uncle Elvis, I'll keep you company."

With that, she desperately winked at Cornelia.

Cornelia knew Wilma had a crush on Elvis and had been chasing him, but the poor thirty-something dude was clueless.

She rubbed her temples and sighed, "Why don't you both step out then?"

Wilma, thrilled, rushed forward, grabbed Zoey's hand, and smacked a couple of dramatic kisses on it.

"Cornelia will feed you, Zoey. I'll come back in a bit."

Then she hustled Elvis out the door, leaving him slightly uncomfortable.

Zoey, however, didn't say a word as Cornelia helped her sit up.

Her throat was still sore, so she could only eat bland food.

"I bumped into Fitch and Ms. Bennitt in the elevator just now, they were all over each other."

As she said this, Cornelia watched Zoey's expression carefully.

Zoey couldn't speak without pain, so she just quietly ate, lashes lowered.
