Ian was staring at the table, not joining Carlene's conversation.

Carlene cooed a bit, then said, "I'm off to a meeting."

"All right, Ian, you do your thing."

After hanging up, Carlene's attitude towards Maja became softer.

She shared the same thoughts as others; since she was already married, there was no way Ian could have anything going on with this woman.

She figured Maja had already had a lot of cozy encounters with her husband; a picky man wouldn't possibly accept this kind of woman.

Carlene nodded and started walking out, "Do as I say. Also, I like cloisonné tiles. I want the walls and floors decorated with whole pieces; it’s all the rage abroad."

Maja frowned. Cloisonné was currently the most expensive stone; a piece could cost hundreds of thousands of dollars.

The blue color was indeed beautiful, referred to as enchanting blue by designers, similar to the boundless sky and stars.

Mansions often use this stone. Maja's designs also have this material, but not entirely; otherwise, they would appear too ostentatious, losing the low-key elegance.

"Ms. Shepard, cloisonné is one of my design options, but it's unsuitable for flooring."

Carlene frowned, obviously unhappy with being interrupted.

"Did you forget what I just said? This house is for me to live in; the design should follow my liking; Ian has already agreed; what’s your problem?"

Maja took a deep breath, chuckled, and said, "Because this isn't Mr. Raymond's style, flooring entirely with cloisonné isn't attractive, it will just look over the top."

Maja thought Carlene just wanted a pet park; she could live with that. But Carlene demanded the entire floor to be cloisonné, that was entirely opposite to her design philosophy. All the designs would have to be changed!

And such a design was too tacky. Since Ian had high standards for art, he wouldn't like this sort of luxury built by piling expensive stone.

"Ms. Shepard, if you insist on using cloisonné, I will discuss it with Mr. Raymond and request a change of designer."

Otherwise, creating something entirely based on Carlene's ideas would ruin Maja's reputation.

Carlene's eyes flashed with amusement; this was exactly her goal.

She wanted Maja to stay away from Ian. Even if she was married, no way, Maja was too attractive.

"All right, you go and talk to Ian. I happen to know a few famous designers who can take your place."

Maja nodded slightly and strode out without saying more.

Carlene stood still, the admiring gaze from Dana at her side.
