That night, Maja slept like a baby and woke up feeling refreshed.

The first thing she did was grab her phone. There was a missed call from Ian from his private number.

Maja frowned.

"Did Holden give him a hard time again?" she wondered.

She sent him a text while she was brushing her teeth and getting ready for the day.

"Anything up?"

By then, Ian had already arrived at the Raymond Corporation.

Seeing her casual text rubbed him the wrong way. But he wasn't about to lose his cool over a woman. So he deleted the message.

If Holden had let it go, he saw no reason to keep in touch with her.

Maja didn't expect Ian to reply anyway. After all, she had used her private number. He probably only called out of respect for Holden.

After freshening up, she immediately called Holden to check on him.

To her surprise, Holden saw her as a poor, heartbroken woman neglected by her husband.

"Maja, rest assured, I'm always on your side. If anything like this happens again, let me know. I'll make Ian apologize to you."

"You don't need to thank me. Rosewood Manor is your wedding gift from me. Only you can decide who's allowed in. Even Ian has no right to stay if you want him out. Your name is on the deed."
