Dana's ankle was swollen, and she struggled to regain her balance as she prepared to lodge a complaint.

"Cousin-in-law, this woman, she..."

Maja raised her hand, pointing to the monitor, and interrupted Dana.

"You spilled coffee all over me first. If your intention was to keep me away from Mr. Raymond, then you don't know him well.

Maja smiled and continued, "Everyone knows what Mr. Raymond is like. He wouldn't make such a rookie mistake."

With those words, it wouldn't be fair even if Ian wanted to give Maja a hard time.

A mischievous glint appeared in her eyes.

"You're pretty assertive for a subordinate. I'm curious if you're acting on behalf of your so-called cousin or for your own benefit.

Dana seethed with anger, shaking uncontrollably. This woman certainly had a sharp tongue.

"Cousin-in-law..."

Dana's voice was pitiful as she looked at Ian, hoping he would come to her aid. However, Ian's gaze passed over her and landed on Maja.

Maja locked eyes with Ian, her demeanor much calmer than Dana's.

"Cousin-in-law, I truly didn't do it on purpose."

Dana started to worry about her job at the company. She still needed to report back to her cousin. Moreover, working here allowed her to be close to Ian, which she considered a stroke of luck.

Ian evaded her outstretched hand and calmly said, "Whether you did it on purpose or not, we'll find out after we review the surveillance footage."

Dana's face turned pale instantly, and she slowly withdrew her hand. Ian's attitude indicated that he intended to get to the bottom of the matter.

But didn't her cousin ask him to care for her when she joined the company? Why wasn't he helping her now?

Maja understood the situation clearly. Ian would never jeopardize his relationship with someone he favored for her sake. His mention of reviewing the surveillance footage was merely an attempt to resolve the issue.

She didn't want to entangle herself in any matters between Ian and the Shepard family. Realizing this, she quickly weighed the pros and cons.

Maja said, "Mr. Raymond, there's no need to review the surveillance footage. The lady was just a bit nervous."

All eyes turned to her.

She continued calmly and gently, "We just need to clarify the situation."

After her statement, silence fell, leaving everyone unsure of how to respond.

Left behind, Dana found herself in a predicament. Ian had already entered the conference room and showed no intention of pursuing the matter further. Quietly, Dana decided to follow Maja.

As Maja entered the changing room, she heard Dana's voice from behind.

"Your little act might deceive others, but it won't fool me. Sandy posted a picture in the group chat of you and Mr. Raymond having dinner together at a hotel. You committed a wrongdoing and yet you try to protect your reputation. How shameless."

Maja found it amusing, realizing that Dana had been tipped off and was ready to attack her from the start. She raised an eyebrow as she wiped the coffee stains off her clothes.

"Dana, if I recall correctly, Mr. Raymond is married. So, what gives you the right to interfere in his personal life? Your cousin is not yet a part of the Raymond family. I doubt it would end well if Mrs. Raymond were to find out about her blatant pursuit of someone else's husband.
