Maja was eager to stand up, but he pushed her back down.

Her fingertips brushed against his hair, which was still damp. He must have just gotten out of the shower without bothering to dry off.

Maja had also just showered, but her hair was completely dried, hanging over her shoulders and revealing her face.

She finally understood why Ian Raymond had the property manager say those things.

In Ian's eyes, Maja was a married woman. He believed she was with Nathan, so as far as he was concerned, Nathan was at home.

Nathan was acting under Judson's instructions. Judson and Nathan shared the same concern. They were worried that the cufflinks incident had upset Ian. Knowing that Nathan and Maja had a good relationship, Judson had suggested that Nathan take Maja out for dinner to try to cheer her up.

"What, afraid your husband will find out?" Ian was still holding her waist, feeling her apprehension.

His breath deepened, and he held her chin, chuckling, "Well, there's nothing we can do about it now. You'll just have to bear with it."

Maja was really scared, but what scared her more was the idea of Ian tormenting her.

She had been relieved that Ian hadn't asked her to come over that night, just as she was getting ready for bed after her shower.
