Dear ex wife Marry Me novel Chapter 437 read online in 2024:
Maja just spent a solid two hours on her knees, almost getting a heatstroke. Now all she can feel was a pounding headache, and she can't drive anymore. She needed to sit down and rest for a bit.
And on top of that, she's feeling waves of nausea.
She looked down at her knees and can't help but roll up her pants.
Under the thin fabric, her knees were red and swollen, even peeling in places, causing her to wince in pain.
The painting that Herbert gave her was still in the car, and thinking about how it's been torn in two, she stared blankly at her knee injuries.
In another car.
Jeff had obviously noticed Maja. The car was free to go now, but he can't resist pointing her out.
"Mr. Raymond, it seems to be Ms. Penny."
Ian can't resist either and told Jeff to pull over. He grabbed a bottle of water and an umbrella and stepped out.
Maja was sitting in a shady spot with a tree providing some cover, but it's a hot day, and she could easily get heatstroke just sitting there.
Ian approached her and handed her the bottle of water.
He quickly noticed her knee injuries and frowned.
Maja, however, didn't immediately take the water he offered. She looked up and saw Ian's face but made no move to take the bottle.
Ian started to pull his hand back, but at that moment, she took the water, murmuring a quiet "Thank you."
He held the umbrella above them, the silver handle making him appear even more impressive.
After standing there for a moment, he suddenly reached out, grabbed her hand, and pulled Maja to her feet.
Caught off guard, Maja stumbled into his arms, his scent filling her nostrils.
"You had plenty of energy to yell at me the other day. What's with the lethargic attitude now?"
He's clearly mocking her.
Maja knew he would hold a grudge about what happened. She quickly apologized, saying, "Mr. Raymond, it’s all my fault."
"What happened to your knees?"
"I fell."
Ian was skeptical. It didn't look like a fall. It looked like a burn.
He gave her the umbrella.
Maja, somewhat dazed, accepted it. The next second, he scooped her up and carried her to his car.
By the time they got in the car, Maja had already put the umbrella away.
She sit next to Ian, and Jeff, who's in the front seat, wisely lowered the windshield shade and stepped on the gas.
Maja discreetly contacted the driver at Rosewood Manor to have him come and took her car back to RosenGarden.
Suddenly, she stiffened.
Because Ian had gently rolled up the leg of her other pant, revealing the other injured knee.
