He clenched the steering wheel and stomped on the gas pedal in fury.

When he got back to the Raymond Corporation office, he called Carlene.

Carlene had returned to the Shepard family. She figured something might be off because Lingery was late. Plus, Ian said he would investigate, so he might have found some clues about Lingery. So she immediately informed Maureen.

Maureen has one son, Ryan Elston, who didn't get involved in many of the Raymond family affairs. She was pretty chill about the family disputes. The thing she couldn't stand the most was sibling rivalry.

Carlene was anxiously waiting for Lingery's response. She was dying to know if she had been exposed.

But then, Ian called.

Her heart skipped a beat, and she swallowed nervously.

"Ian," she answered.

Looking at the files in front of him, Ian asked casually, "Did you put Lingery up to this?"

"Ian, I..."

"You can't take Penny's assault too personally. Think hard about what my brother gave you and stop messing with her."

Carlene almost passed out in anger, "She nearly ruined my face!"

"Didn't you almost ruin her hand? Do you really think you're better than her?" Ian retorted.

Carlene was speechless, with fury in her eyes.

She realized she shouldn't argue with Ian; otherwise, there would be even less chance between them.

She held back her emotions, her mouth tasting like blood.

"I got it. I won't hold her accountable for this."

Ian hung up.

Furious, Carlene threw her phone to the ground and smashed everything in sight.

Her chest heaving, she called in her people immediately.

"Go look into that designer's family background. I want to know everything! Including her workplace! How many family members she has! Who she's married to! I want to know it all!"

She couldn't stand it anymore!

If she couldn't deal with that woman, she would start with her family, threatening them one by one!

She wouldn't let anyone take Ian away from her. He was the one she always wanted.

Plus, they were once a couple. How could she let other women intervene?

"Go! Now! I need to know her family situation by tomorrow!"

She kicked things around like a madwoman, scaring the bodyguards.

"Ms. Shepard, we'll look into it right away."
