Maja glanced at her phone to see that it was already past one in the morning.

"Mr. Raymond, it's already late. You should get some rest."

Ian looked at her phone, a bit miffed that she wouldn't give him her personal number. His eyes roved over her stomach, thinking about the baby she was trying to conceive, and he was jealous, "You haven't been pregnant before, have you?"

The atmosphere in the room chilled at his words. Maja felt her head spin with anger, unsure of how to respond.

Ian didn't hear any rebuttal, so he presumed she might have indeed been pregnant with her husband's child before. He clutched the side of the bed, his words becoming increasingly venomous, "So you really have been pregnant before. Only someone like you would settle for a guy like him."

Maja stiffened, feeling a cold shiver creep up from her feet to her head. She turned around, ready to leave, not wanting to say another word.

But Ian stepped forward and grabbed her wrist, "You got upset just because I said a few words? If you really cared about me, you wouldn't be trying to get pregnant."

"That's none of your business!"

At those words, Ian's eyes narrowed, "What did you say?"

Maja took a deep breath, looked up at him, her eyes resolute, "I said, it's none of your business whether I've had a child or not."

Ian was seething, pulling her to him, "None of my business! I've been by your side more than your husband has. What do you take me for?"

Maja slapped his hand away, "You're my lover, the third wheel. Know your place. You have one last chance, if you want to do it, then do it."

With that, she walked out the door.

Ian had never been so infuriated. It was one thing when Tyler joked about him being the third wheel, but to have that woman actually treat him like one was a bitter pill to swallow. He stormed out the door and caught up with her just as she was stepping into the elevator. He blocked the closing doors, pulling her out of the elevator.

Maja assumed he was ready to go through with their final time together, so she didn't resist.
