Maja Pennyfeather was about to ask why Felix Brown didn't suspect anything after spending so much money. But before she could, her phone buzzed. It was another message from Ian Raymond.

Just a single word.

【Ring.】

She was instantly annoyed. She called the police, reported that an item had been stolen from her room, and asked them to contact the owner, Ian.

Ian was still waiting for Maja’s reply but soon received a call from the police asking about the appearance and estimated value of the lost ring.

Ian's face darkened as the police spoke. He handed the phone to Jeff and redialed Maja's number.

Maja was still with Carol Miller. She had a few drinks and was even more irritated to find Ian bothering her again.

"Mr. Raymond."

After pressing the answer button, Carol looked over when she heard her address him.

Hearing her voice, Ian cooled off instantly.

"Aren't you home?"

"I've reported the ring to the police. They'll contact you directly if there's any progress."

She didn't answer Ian's question, instead cutting off all his excuses to find her with the ring.

Ian clenched his phone, no longer holding back.

"Penny, we've slept together so many times. Let’s grab a drink?"

Maja immediately realized he was showing his true colours again.

"I'm busy."

"Tyler Bennitt's movie is about to premiere. You've invested 15 million dollars, and I've invested 15 million as well. The film is under review, and I know some key people."

He didn't spell it out, but he was undoubtedly threatening her.

For Ian, 15 million was a chump change. He didn't care about the money at all. Tyler was just a plaything. If Ian wanted to block the film's review, Tyler would have to toast him a few more drinks.
