Holden's gaze turned serious, and then shifted to Connie who wasn't far away.

"Connie, you head home first, and tell the others that Ian needs some rest and doesn't want to see anyone."

Connie just nodded, too naive to realize that Holden was intentionally sending her away.

Selena had already been taken away, leaving only Holden, Steve, and Maja there.

Holden rubbed his forehead and asked, "Any possible aftereffects?"

Phelps shook his head, "We won't surely know until Ian wakes up."

Ian was pushed back to the ward, his face deathly pale due to excessive blood loss.

Maja sat by the hospital bed, feeling a bit at a loss.

"Maja."

Holden limped in, wanting to say something, but in the end, he just sighed.

No one had eaten anything all afternoon, they were all just waiting for Ian to wake up.

Watching Maja wipe Ian's forehead with a tissue, and cleaning each finger, Holden couldn't help but sigh deeply again.

At four in the afternoon, Ian's fingers twitched slightly.

The doctor came to check up on Ian and then told Holden to eat something, or he would collapse first if this went on.

Holden just sat there like a statue.

Ian only felt a throbbing headache, he looked at Holden weakly, then slowly leaned back against the bed, his voice hoarse and pitiful,

"Grandpa Holden."

Holden's eyes immediately welled up with tears.

"It's okay, it's okay."

Ian lowered his eyes; his lips were also pale.

Holden knew he was in pain, so he patted his hand gently and said, "Rest well. I've had Edith sent away. Steve and Selena are getting a divorce. You won't have to deal with these people anymore."

Ian looked a bit lost, but he didn't say anything.

The room fell silent, Maja helped Holden up and had him sent home so he wouldn't have to suffer here anymore.

Holden held Maja's hand tightly, saying with great emphasis, "Maja, Ian may be having some issues, but your coming to the hospital shows you still care about him. The next few days may be tough, I hope you can take good care of him."

Maja instinctively looked at Ian, he must have heard all that, why wasn't he reacting?

"Grandpa Holden, you don’t have to worry about it. I will take good care of him."

Holden and Steve both left, Steve was always busy, barely at home.
