Meetman's eyes were bloodshot from rage.

Maja, holding the contract, stood up and said, "Meetman, never forget the insult Harden threw at you."

"How could I forget!" Meetman got so worked up that he started coughing.

Maja looked around; her nostrils filled with the smell of booze.

"Before you plan your revenge, clean yourself up first. And stop drinking, it's messing with your judgement."

"I get it."

Meetman's face turned red from the coughing. His life used to be pretty good before the false accusations. Now, hiding in that grungy alley, even afraid to venture into the main streets for fear of being spotted by Harden’s people, what's the point of living? After hanging up, Harden called again.

"Ms. Pennyfeather, do you really not care about Neil's ashes? Are you not afraid I'll mix them with pig feed and feed it to the pigs?"

Maja's fingers trembled, and then she chuckled, "Ms. Dickens, you said it yourself, I'm not Neil's daughter. Why would I care about his ashes? You should've figured out by now what kind of person I am."

Harden was taken aback. Maja really didn't care about Neil's ashes?

Neil's ashes were the only card she had left. If Maja didn't even care about that, what else could she use to threaten her?

Harden was fuming, gritting her teeth while Laura's parents kept on threatening.

"If Laura is convicted, your photos with your assistant will be leaked. So, you better find a way to get Laura out."
