Jeff muttered a silent prayer twice in his heart, all while shaking his head, "Not good."

Maja's heart raced as she continued to ask, "Did he hear everything I said?"

Maja was speechless. Taking a deep breath, Maja regained her composure and mustered up the courage to push open the office door.
