Holden lashed Ian twenty times consecutively before he felt his anger subsiding.

Ian's back was severely injured and bleeding.

Taking a deep breath, Holden was annoyed by the sight of this kid and knew the young man was tough. He waved his hand impatiently, "Let him kneel outside, and none of you dare to give him a coat."

It was freezing cold outside, and Ian was only wearing a shirt, plus his back was covered in wounds. Any ordinary person would have died by now.

The butler tried to stop it in fear, but Holden said, "This lad is lucky. He won't die."

Without hesitation, Ian got up and went outside to kneel.

The butler sighed helplessly in the hall, unable to persuade them.

It was snowing heavily outside, and he tried to hold an umbrella over Ian but was stopped.

"Mr. Raymond, you should use the umbrella to shield you from the snow. When the snow melts, your clothes will get wet, and you'll catch a cold."

Ian's back was still straight, "No need."

So the butler stood there alone, holding an umbrella, keeping him company.

But he was old, and by the middle of the night, he couldn't hold on any longer.

Ian quickly had the other servants take the butler to rest.

On the other side, since Ian left, Maja had been leaning against the chair back as if paralyzed.

The carriage still retained the breath and warmth, and the tremor was still in her bones.

She adjusted her skirt before opening the carriage door.

The cold wind rushed in, and she realized how crazy she and Ian had been.

Just a few meters away from home, they actually did it here.

She couldn't help but hold her forehead. When she got to the door, a servant opened it for her.

Maja didn't know the servants here. She just nodded and went to the master bedroom upstairs.

After sweating profusely, she took a hot bath.

When she lay down on the bed, she remembered the call from Zoey, so she called back.

Zoey had returned from the hospital. She woke up as soon as she was sent there. The doctor gave her painkillers and said it was nothing serious.

Now she was back in her rented house, looking at her and Murray's things, she felt incredibly relieved.

"Mr. Pennyfeather."

"Zoey, are you feeling better?"

"I'm fine. I think it was something I ate. I'm already home."

Being asked by Maja, she felt warm inside.

After hanging up, she started to clean up the scattered stuff.
