"You wouldn't get mad even the Raymonds treated you like this?"

Beck wasn't exactly clear about her relationship with the Raymond family. However, after he heard Selena giving her a piece of her mind, he got some idea. The whole thing seemed ridiculous to him.

On one hand, Ian and Penny were all tangled up, but on the other hand, he had just let her get bullied like that.

Did he actually like her?

If he had paid a smidge of attention to his ex-wife, he would have surely figured out her identity by now.

But he was the high and mighty Ian. His ex-wife Maja was like a tiny ant in front of him. Why would such a noble person bother with a tiny ant?

This was all just too absurd.

Maja didn't say a word, just quietly sipping the porridge from her bowl.

Beck couldn't help but sit at the edge of the bed, taking the bowl from her and placing it on the bedside table, then pulled her into his arms and lightly patted her.
