Feeling a sudden softness in his heart, he avoided her gaze and said, "Come in."

Maja, fearing he might change his mind, quickly followed him into his room.

There was an additional desk in the room, on which sat a running computer and a stack of files needing to be dealt with.

Ian seemed to be constantly busy, even bringing a host of files with him on his business trip.

Choosing not to approach the computer desk, Maja settled for a random chair.

Ian went to the desk, opened the files, and continued his review with a pen in hand.

While working, he seemed even more stern, emitting an air that didn't tolerate interruptions.

Maja watched his silhouette against the light, the glow seemingly piercing through him, casting a hazy shadow on the floor.

Her fingers were itching to sketch him.

The pain in her stomach seemed less significant.

She was so captivated until someone knocked on the door, and Ian said, "Come in."

Jeff came in with a few dishes. Noticing Maja, he hesitated a bit before continuing towards them.

"Boss, eat something first. You have a meeting at 8 that lasts an hour and another overseas meeting at 9:30."

Ian put down his work, noticing there was only one set of utensils on the table. "Bring another set."

Maja didn’t wait for Ian's invitation. She was so hungry that just smelling the food made her stomach growl.

Just as she sat down, her stomach made an untimely rumble, making her feel highly embarrassed.

Ian heard it naturally and chuckled.

Although he didn't say anything, Maja felt mortified and wished she could hide somewhere.

Jeff quietly left the room.

The food on the table was very light, which was suitable for Maja's current condition.
