On the other side of town, Maja had scheduled a meeting with a director, hoping to sign him onto her company. At noon, she was supposed to have lunch with him.

But as she and Zoey were heading to the underground parking lot, their car window got shattered by some thug before they could even get in.

Before Zoey could scream for help, she got knocked out by someone, falling limp on the spot.

Maja, sitting in the back, was a bit too late to escape as the car doors were already locked from the outside.

The man at the wheel was Omar.

Omar gunned the engine and sped off so fast that the surrounding scenery all seemed blurry.

The shattered window caused the wind to whip inside the car, blowing Maja’s hair back and making it hard for her to even keep her eyes open.

When they hit the freeway, Omar drove even faster, overtaking many cars.

Maja tried to speak, but the noise drowned her out.

As she tried to find her phone, Omar took a sharp turn, and her phone went flying to the corner.

Seconds later, he slammed on the brakes.

That kind of reckless driving was extremely dangerous and Maja almost got thrown forward.

She turned pale and struggled to put on her seatbelt, but Omar floored the gas pedal again.

The ten-mile journey was a blur of rapid acceleration and abrupt braking which was done on purpose to make Maja uncomfortable.

By the time Maja was finally dragged out of the car, she was so sick that she threw up on the spot.

But she hadn’t had anything to eat since the morning, as she had been in meetings discussing the contract with the director, so all she threw up was bile.

According to her schedule, she should have been having lunch with the director at that exact moment, instead, she was intercepted by Omar.

Omar was holding a gun, and after all that reckless driving, they ended up back by the river.

People were still searching for Cornelia’s body in the river, and Omar casually kicked Maja down towards the riverbank.

In Omar’s world, there was no distinction between men and women, and he certainly didn't show any mercy to the fairer sex.

So, he walked over and stood in front of her.

“Maja, I'm only giving you two chances, tell me where you've hidden Cornelia.”

When Maja fell, half her body soaked in the river, her hair wet and sticking to her forehead.

But even without makeup, her face remained coldly beautiful.

Omar moved closer, the gun pressing against her chin as he asked her in a threatening voice,

“Where's Cornelia?”

Maja looked up at him, unafraid.

“She's dead, isn't she? Wasn't it your pet Alma that killed her? You’re asking for her from me, you should be asking the Grim Reaper!”

Omar kicked her in the shoulder.

Maja felt as if her shoulder was shattered.

“Do you believe that I can kill you right here and now?”

Maja covered her shoulder, the last bit of color draining from her face.

She knew that Omar was indeed capable of such insanity.
