Echoes of a Forsaken Heart novel Chapter 244

Natalia gasped in surprise.

Hamilton leaned down and kissed her lips.

Caught off guard, Natalia didn’t have the heart to push him away. Instead, she let him kiss her.

Seeing that she didn’t push him away, Hamilton chuckled, “Worried about my wound?”

Natalia pushed him away.

“You better get back to the hospital before Scarlett gets back.”

Hamilton kissed her again lightly on the lips.

“I'll just sit for a bit and then leave, okay? Natalia, I’ve missed your coffee. Brew me a cup, will you?”

Natalia glanced at him, “You better be here just for the coffee.”

She turned and went to the kitchen, grabbed a can of coffee beans, and started boiling water.

Hamilton walked around the room, “Which one’s your room?”

Natalia pointed, and Hamilton opened the door to peek inside before coming back and hugging her from behind.

“Move back to the apartment, will you? If you come back, I'll just stay in the guest room. This place really isn’t up to snuff.”

Natalia didn’t believe for a second that he would actually stay in the guest room if she moved back.

“This place is fine. I’m comfortable here.”

She pushed him away slightly, “Stop it, go sit down if you want your coffee.”

The water boiled, and Natalia brewed him a cup, placing it on the table.

Hamilton pulled her close, leaning over her.

“Honestly, I’d rather drink something else than coffee right now.”

Natalia froze, suddenly remembering a moment that had crossed her mind before.

Her face instantly heated up.

“Hamilton, you—”

Before she could finish, Hamilton’s lips were on hers again.

The door suddenly swung open.

Startled, Natalia pushed Hamilton away.

Scarlett walked in, finding Natalia red-faced on the couch, with Hamilton kneeling on the ground.

Her mind buzzed, “Holy smokes, are you proposing already? That was fast.”

Natalia’s face was the picture of awkwardness as she glared at Hamilton.

“Did you hurt your wound?”

Hamilton stood up, his gaze cooling as he looked at Scarlett.

“Dr. Scarlett, your timing is impeccable.”

Scarlett realized what she might have interrupted and her expression soured.

“This is my house, if I remember correctly!”

Natalia pushed Hamilton towards the door.

“Better go now.”

With Scarlett back, Hamilton didn’t linger.

At the door, he suddenly said, “Make sure Killian keeps an eye on you these days.”

Natalia paused, “What’s going on?”

“Orpheus is back.”

Natalia’s grip tightened.

The memory of being kidnapped rushed back.

Hamilton saw her tense up.

He pulled her into a hug.
