Natalia was puzzled by his words, but she really had no intention of wearing it anyway.
The item looked incredibly expensive at a glance. What if she damaged it or lost it? She'd be devastated, wouldn't she?
By afternoon, they were on their way back to Maplewood Town.
Stepping out of the airport, Hamilton grabbed Natalia's hand and led her to the car.
"Home?"
Natalia shook her head, "I'd like to visit my mom at the hospital."
Tatiana Joyner's condition had stabilized somewhat after being moved out of the ICU.
She had been too caught up in her travels lately to take proper care of her mom. Now that she had some free time, she wanted to spend more of it with her.
Hamilton nodded and drove straight to the hospital.
Arriving at the hospital, Natalia glanced at him.
"Come in with me, will you?"
Hamilton paused, even though he had indeed planned to follow her in.
But hearing it from Natalia meant something entirely different to him.
She wanted to introduce him to Tatiana as her boyfriend.
Hamilton's breathing became slightly heavier. He came over and wrapped his arms around Natalia's waist, lifting her onto his lap.
"Ms. Jenkins, are you taking me to meet the parents?"
Natalia chuckled, her nose tingling slightly with emotion.
Today, while at the Spiegel family's home, she couldn't help but think of Tatiana.
She thought it was about time she brought Hamilton to meet Tatiana.
No matter what the future held for her and Hamilton, at least Tatiana would know she had someone to rely on.
She smiled and nodded, "Would you like that?"
Hamilton gulped, taking a moment before he murmured, "I'd crawl there on my knees if I had to."
Natalia laughed and gently pushed him away.
She tried to discreetly wipe away a tear, but Hamilton leaned in and kissed the corner of her eye.
"Don't worry, you've got me now."
Natalia couldn't hold back her tears any longer.
Hamilton gently kissed away her tears, whispering comforting words in her ear.
It took Natalia a while to calm down.
They got out of the car and headed towards the hospital ward when they ran into Scarlett, who was furiously storming in from outside.
Natalia was taken aback and quickly grabbed Scarlett.
"Scarlett, what's wrong?"
Scarlett was fuming.
"I'm going to kill that jerk Elliott!"
Holding a scalpel, she was about to charge upstairs.
Natalia quickly held her back.
Scarlett could be quite impulsive when angry.
She tried to calm Scarlett down, "Don't rush, tell me, what did Elliott do now?"
Scarlett was so angry she was pale, "It's all his fault, he must have bad-mouthed me to the dean. I got to the hospital this morning, and the dean called me into his office, telling me to resign! I heard some people say they saw Elliott entering the dean's office. That lunatic, he must be mad because I said he was incompetent. And he is! But he doesn’t want anyone saying it!"
Natalia frowned, "Elliott did that?"
Scarlett snorted, "He was never a good guy. How could anyone who was friends with Hamilton and Eveleen be good?"
Natalia glanced at Hamilton, who twitched the corner of his mouth.
"Dr. Scarlett, could you please mind your words? How does being friends with me automatically make someone bad?"
Scarlett scoffed, "What? You think because Natalia forgave you, we've forgotten all the crap you've pulled? Hamilton, in my eyes, you'll always be the dog that hurt Natalia! You can never redeem yourself for those sins!"
After saying her piece, Scarlett stormed off into the elevator.
Natalia hurried after her.
Hamilton's expression darkened, but he said nothing more.
He knew he hadn't made amends for his past actions towards Natalia; he admitted that much.
He was just grateful that Natalia had given him a chance to make things right.
The elevator ascended.
Reaching the top floor, Hamilton murmured, "Elliott doesn't have an office here, but he often hangs out in Baxter Lehner's office, Room 1602."
Natalia frowned at him.
