Alexander glanced at his watch, feeling his heart racing with regret. Why on earth hadn't he opted for a sports car when he had the chance?
So slow! Painfully slow!
Rachel ceased her fiddling and sneaked a peek at Alexander through a curtain of hair. The concern etched on his face for Quintessa was palpable.
She seemed to be the center of everyone's universe.
On set, Quintessa stretched her arms and legs, grateful for the pleasant weather. The road had been blocked off to ensure the shoot went smoothly.
The crew appeared relaxed, knowing the end of the shoot was in sight.
Quintessa mused that the wrap party didn't need to be at some fancy hotel. A simple barbecue at a local joint would suffice. Mr. York really didn’t mind splashing the cash.
The director called out, “Quinn, you’re up in ten minutes!”
Quintessa nodded, “Got it!”
Manny came over to fix Quintessa’s hair.
“Be careful, Tess. Even though it’s just a staged car crash, safety first.”
Quintessa chuckled, “Don’t worry, we're all insured.”
“But let’s hope we never need to use that insurance, right?”
Violet joined them, adding, “Manny’s right. Safety above all. We’ll get you a stunt double. After all, we're under the York Financial Group’s wing now. We can afford it.”
Quintessa laughed, “Sure, discuss it with the big boss tonight.”
Violet waved the idea away, “Me? No way. He’d kick me to the curb. But a little pillow talk from you, and it's as good as done.”
