Entangled Between The Alpha And The Omega novel Chapter 5

"I'm planning to run away tonight." Cayden confides in me in my room. He has been detained as a Wolf D, but not TCE. So, he has more access to me now. The Alpha didn't interrupt when the final decision was made.

"How do you intend to do that?" I ask, though my face doesn't appear serious about it.

"I told you I was made the Alpha's clone, right? It takes an intelligent person to earn that. Just wait and see." He assures me, grabbing the mug on the table. He sips some tea and places the mug down again.

"I... I hope you're aware it's getting late already." I tell him, and he nods his head. "And, the Alpha has instructed the security wolves to shut the gate once it's 8 pm. I hope you know that too."

"I didn't know that, but trust me, I don't need the gate. There are a lot of easier routes of escape, rather than stress myself through the gate."

I sigh. "You're now a Wolf D. And, I'm someone the Alpha cherishes so well. What a favor. Why do you think we need to flee?"

"Do you think I can get mated to you in the Alpha's pack house? Even if I do, do you think you would still be cherished this much? The Alpha doesn't love you; he just wants to use you, I'm telling you!"

"But... Cayden, I know you must have a good heart... but, I can't leave this luxury to follow you." I tell him, though my mind feels a sharp pain.

"Then, be with the Alpha that will mistreat you." He says dramatically. "I told you I've got my ways, but your head keeps being stronger. Duh!"

There's another sound on the door. Before I can stand to open it, a female voice speaks up.

"The Alpha needs Everest with him. Kindly open the door."

I quickly stand up to respond, but Cayden holds my hands and whispers, "Don't go, please."

"How, why? Wait... didn't you just yell at me?" I respond promptly.

"I-I'm sorry." He apologizes.

"I'm sorry, too.." I tell him, pulling away from his touch as I head towards the door. This is the second time I've thwarted his attempt to linger.

"Hey beautiful, it's you!" The lady cheers me on. "The Alpha really did pick a nice choice."

I smile at her words, sensing Cayden's quiet presence behind us. Avoiding looking back to sidestep more questions, I ask her gently, "So, where are we off to?"

"The Alpha's office." She replies. "I'm Kiwi, the personal assistant for Mikumi."

"Oh. The Luna, right?" I ask, but she doesn't respond. Is the Alpha trying to have two Lunas? How possible is that?

We finally reach the doorstep of the Alpha's office. Kiwi gently knocks on the door, and she turns the doorknob immediately while gesturing for me to enter. I go in with a smile on my face, waving at the Alpha, who reciprocates with a wave back.

"Kiwi, you can excuse us." Spartan orders, and she moves out. "Everest, I'd love to show you my quarters, tonight." As he says that, my heart throbs inside, and I become sorely afraid. I almost freeze, but I use a smile to cover it.

"You...?" He asks.

"Oh no, I'd like to..." I respond immediately, as his eyes look fierce now. "Where's the room?"

"It's almost 7 pm. It's time to get back to my room." He tells himself, ignoring my question. "You can follow me as I go. Why didn't you come with a TCE Wolf, though?"

"Kiwi was with me." I tell him.

He sighs and replies, "Kiwi is for Mikumi, not you, though."

"Who is Mikumi?" I inquire.
