Chapter 218 Love You Twice as Much
"Norah..." Shawn called out to her, overcome with excitement. "So, is it true? The person you've always liked is me?"
Till that moment, he still felt like a dream.
If he hadn't heard it with his own ears, he wouldn't have believed it.
"No," Norah said, deliberately denying it.
Shawn naturally would not buy it. He cupped her face in his hands, grinning like a child. "You can't fool me. I heard it all."
With that, he pulled her into his arms and showered her with kisses.
He was overjoyed.
It was one of the happiest moments of his life.
Lowering his head, he kissed Norah passionately on the lips.
All his excitement, joy, and gratification melted into this kiss.
If he could, he would melt her with his kiss.
Out of breath, Norah leaned weakly against his chest. Only then did Shawn reluctantly let go of her.
"Thank you."
He was grateful that she didn't like any but him.
"For what?" Norah raised her head. Because of the passion just now, her cheeks were rosy.
"I was happy that you liked me. But I didn't expect that I could be happier. Thank you for giving me this unique surprise."
"You're too stupid to find it out."
He didn't argue about that.
"Yes, I'm so stupid that I didn't understand your feelings until now. I'm inexcus..."
Before he could finish his words, Norah suddenly covered his mouth. "Don't say that."
"Okay."
But there was another question on his mind.
"But how come? It hasn't been ten years since we met," he said.
"Fool," Norah smiled, stroking his eyebrows, "didn't you ask me why I've always had a special feeling about high school? I went there even on the day of our divorce."
"Why?"
"Because that's where I met you and fell in love with you at first sight."
She was 14 years old back then and had just started her first year of high school.
Now she was 24 and had graduated from graduate school.
That was really a long time. She had offered the prime time of her life to him unreservedly.
Shawn listened quietly, touched to no end.
He didn't want to talk right now. He just wanted to listen to Norah quietly.
"The first time we met wasn't the day I went to the Lawson family to find Grandpa with the jade bracelet. It was when I was in Grade Ten. I passed out during training, and you carried me to the infirmary.
"I remember at that time you were so dazzling, like the brightest star in the universe. I flipped, and since then, no other boys can reach my heart. But..."
Norah's eyes grew despondent. "After I recovered, I tried to approach you and say hello. But you had forgotten everything. You didn't even remember who I was."
"I'm sorry." Shawn felt distressed as he held her.
Even after all this time, he could still see the pain in her eyes.
He had been happy and excited when he first learned the truth.
But now he was filled with sadness and regret.
He ached for her devotion without ever receiving a response.
He regretted not figuring it out earlier.
Norah was right. He was so foolish.
