Chapter 244 Shawn Was Seriously Ill
Was he sick?
Was it because he got drenched in the rain last night?
"Sorry, I have my own things to deal with. Besides, we've already broken up." Norah took a deep breath and made up her mind to respond that way.
"But Mr. Lawson has a high fever now. He's unconscious from the fever. He refuses to go to the hospital and keeps calling your name."
"He is an adult and should take responsibility for his own actions. And there are so many of you. I don't think you can't get a sick person to the hospital."
"Norah..." At this point, Shawn's deep voice came from the phone, "Norah, I really didn't mean it."
Not daring to listen any further, Norah immediately hung up the phone.
After washing up, Norah went to work at the hospital.
She was busy all day. She barely had time to drink water or go to the ladies' room. For lunch, she ate only compressed cookies to fill her stomach.
She did not dare to stop. Because if she stopped, she would think about the things that had happened in the past few days.
She would think about him and even about Lilian.
Just thinking about those things, she couldn't calm down.
She had to admit that sometimes being busy was a good thing.
As long as she was busy, she could forget her earlier troubles.
She dared not use her phone or try to find out anything about him.
It wasn't until after work that she finally picked up her phone. Then she was shocked.
There were dozens of missed calls from Anthony Flynn, almost one call every half hour.
After changing her clothes, Norah walked out of the department and saw Anthony Flynn coming toward her.
Seeing her, Anthony ran over, panting, as if he had seen a savior. "Miss Norah, I found you at last. Mr. Lawson is really very sick. But he insists on staying home and refuses to come to the hospital."
She had to admit that she softened after hearing Anthony's description.
But she still replied firmly, "If he's sick, he should go to the hospital. I'm not his personal doctor. I can't help him."
"Miss Norah, I really have no choice but to bother you. We've tried many ways today, even the one you suggested of forcibly taking Mr. Lawson to the hospital, but..."
Anthony Flynn said with some pity, "Those bodyguards were all beaten up and thrown out by Mr. Lawson."
"Isn't he sick? He sounds pretty strong to me."
"You know Mr. Lawson's ability. Even when he's sick, ordinary people are no match for him. And those people don't really dare fight Mr. Lawson."
"Now, Mr. Lawson has locked himself in his room for a whole day without eating or drinking. And there's not a sound in there. I'm really worried."
Anthony Flynn did his best to describe Shawn's situation as pathetically as possible.
Norah bit her lip and felt a sharp pain in her chest.
She struggled hard in her heart, but in the end she couldn't resist her concern for him. She nodded slightly and said, "Okay, but I'll only go once. If he still refuses to go to the hospital, there's nothing I can do."
Anthony was immediately overjoyed and said, "Thank you, Miss Norah. As long as you're willing to see him, Mr. Lawson will definitely go to the hospital."
When Norah arrived, his bedroom door was firmly locked.
She reached out and knocked.
Before she could speak, Shawn's angry voice came from inside, "Don't make me say this again! Leave me alone!"
Norah knocked on the door again.
"Fuck off!" His tone was even angrier this time.
She pursed her lips and looked helplessly at Anthony, "You see, it makes no difference that you invited me here. I'm not that important in his heart."
"Maybe you've been looking for the wrong person all along. The person he wants to see is not me, but..."
