Chapter 278 A Perfect Idea
After returning home, Norah carefully cleaned both earrings.
She was relieved to see that the earrings still had the same soft luster as before.
Then she put the earrings in a ring box and handed them to Shawn seriously. "Here's your stuff back... Take a look."
Shawn didn't reach for it. "Didn't we just talk about this? You can have it."
"If you don't want it, then I..."
Shawn snatched the box and made a move to throw it.
Norah immediately grabbed his arm in shock. Then she shouted, "Shawn, don't be impulsive. When did I say I didn't want it? I want it. I'll just take it."
Shawn withdrew his arm. He then put the earring case right into the large pocket of Norah's down jacket.
Meanwhile, Shawn took Norah's hand and headed out the door.
"Where are we going?" Norah asked in disbelief.
"To take you home."
His answer really surprised Nora.
"But you said you were hungry and asked me to make you a cake, didn't you?"
"I'm not so cold-blooded to let you make a cake this late at night when you're sick. Anyway, I had three chances. I'll have plenty of chances later, but you need to be able to come over anytime if I want to eat."
Norah was speechless.
As expected, she knew Shawn wouldn't let her off the hook so easily and that he must have had his offers.
By the time Norah got home, it was midnight. Norah took a hot shower and then lay down on her bed and went to sleep.
Lilian recuperated for a while under Rosalyn's care. And she recovered well.
As long as Lilian didn't exercise strenuously or do sports like climbing mountains, she could already walk down the ground normally.
Seeing Lilian getting better, Rosalyn felt that her efforts had paid off.
"Lily, that's great. I'm surprised you can actually walk. I'm sure Norah is no match for you now." Rosalyn said excitedly.
Lilian shook her head. Compared to her previous false confidence, she seemed extraordinarily calm now.
"Rosie, you're wrong. Even though I can walk, Shawn is no longer the person he used to be a few years ago. Norah's position in his heart has long been different."
"How can that be? Lily, so what should we do now? You're so smart. You must have a solution."
Rosalyn flustered. Lilian chimed in, "Now, my being vulnerable is no longer working. Not only will it not make Shawn sympathize with me, but it will make him detest me."
"So, I've come up with another perfectly good idea."
Rosalyn asked impatiently, "What good idea?"
Smiling coldly, Lilian took out a packet of pills and put it in front of Rosalyn. "As long as you put this pill in Shawn's glass. Once he drinks from this glass, we'll have a chance."
"By the time I've had sex with him and am pregnant with his child, do you think Norah is qualified enough to compete with me for being Mrs. Lawson?"
As Rosalyn listened to Lilian speak, she shook her head frantically without thinking.
"No. I can't. Lily, your idea is good, but it's too risky. If you don't make it, or if my brother finds out, he'll kick me out of the Lawson family. And I'll lose everything."
