Kendrick's brow furrowed ever so slightly. During his illness, a parade of so-called specialists had come knocking, each more self-promoting than the last, but not a single one had any real talent!
Kendrick hadn't bought into the claims of any of these self-proclaimed medical savants.
Damian continued, "Dad, Ms. Morris brought over a family heirloom remedy. I'm certain it can restore your health."
At that moment Rebecca gracefully stood up, "Good day, Mr. Wright, I'm Rebecca Morris."
She hadn't risen earlier on purpose, a bit of posturing on her part.
After all, as a descendant of the legendary doctor, appearing too eager would surely cheapen her stature, wouldn't it?
Rebecca had lived two lifetimes and was no longer the naive girl she once was.
Kendrick nodded indifferently, then turned to Damian, "I've already found a real doctor for my condition. You may tell Ms. Morris she can leave now."
"Dad," Damian, sensing Kendrick's skepticism, pleaded, "Dad! Trust me, Ms. Morris can cure you!"
Through their conversations, Damian had come to believe that Rebecca's demeanor and poise were far beyond what one would expect from a teenager.
Therefore, Damian had immense faith in Rebecca.
The legendary doctor was no ordinary man, so his descendant surely couldn't be just anybody either.
Rebecca offered a wry smile, "I may be young, Mr. Wright, and I understand your doubt. But I can assure you, I am indeed the direct heir to the doctor's legacy. I'm only 18, and, not to sound immodest, but have you ever seen a teenager with my level of composure?"
Hearing this, Kendrick lifted his gaze toward Rebecca. Had he not met Anthea that day, he might have considered Rebecca to be an exceptional young talent.
Indeed, few teenagers possessed her level of calm, and her speech didn't sound childish either.
But having met Anthea, Kendrick was no longer impressed.
Compared to Anthea, Rebecca fell short. She was too arrogant.
Could a true descendant of the Legendary Doctor be so full of pride?
Kendrick said, "It's good for the young to be confident, but do you realize that too much confidence is actually just arrogance?"
