The maid hurried inside to notify Karen and Adah that Anthea had arrived.

As the door swung open, the maid accompanied Anthea into the grand foyer of the estate. With an air of formality, she announced, “Good day, Dr. Yeager. I'm the Christensen family's butler. Please, call me Pearl. The madam has been up since dawn eagerly awaiting your visit. She'll be over the moon to see you!”

She carelessly set the cat aside and hurried outside herself, leaving the cat to lament its lot.
