Heartstrings on Fire novel Chapter 1018

Ryder said, "Don’t worry about me, I’m a doctor, so I know what I’m talking about. Painkillers and anesthetics don’t do much for me, but a good old whiskey and a cigarette still do the trick."

Hearing this, Agnes felt even worse.

Suddenly, Agnes felt like she was in the same boat as Cilian was just a moment ago. No matter what she said, it was like talking to a wall. All she could do was sigh in resignation.

Ryder then said, "Since you’re here, why don’t you join me for dinner? I’m going to change."

Agnes quickly replied, "But you’re still hospitalized."

"I’m getting discharged tomorrow," Ryder said, already turning to fetch his clothes.

Agnes couldn’t stop him. But she knew Ryder wasn’t in any condition to be discharged yet.

"There’s no need to go out, I brought dinner." A familiar male voice came from the door.

Turning around, Agnes saw Jared.

True to his word, Jared had brought a plethora of food containers with him.

Ryder’s expression changed at the sight. Still, he managed to say, "Uncle."

Jared placed the containers on the table. "I got some of your favorites from Cloud View. Come on, let’s have dinner."

Agnes walked over and whispered, "How did you know I was here?"
