Agnes said, "I'm beginning to think that the shooting at the wedding was premeditated. Someone might have been targeting my brother, or perhaps the real aim was my godfather, since he was also shot several times and almost didn't survive. I'm here to see if I can uncover anything new, but so far, I've come up empty."
Deep down, Agnes had two theories.
One theory was that The Obsidian Order had partnered with a mole inside Albert’s Arms. The attackers might have been operatives from The Obsidian Order. With Albert’s Arms' level of security, it would be nearly impossible for outsiders to breach it. There must have been a security breach, likely facilitated by an insider.
The other possibility was her other brother. Agnes couldn't help but suspect Kearney. Even though she hadn’t found any concrete evidence, Kearney had orchestrated all the wedding arrangements. Conveniently, he was drunk and absent when the chaos unfolded.
Agnes didn’t want to suspect Kearney, but the way he restrained himself with that overly controlled kiss that day only fueled her suspicions. Could his deep love for Phenix have driven him to such jealousy that he'd plot against his own brother? And with many of Albert’s Arms' senior members gone, Kearney's side had become overwhelmingly powerful, making a power grab plausible.
But these were all just Agnes's speculations. She hadn't even confided in Reggie, as he would never believe it; Kearney was his protégé. Kearney’s composed and calm exterior made it impossible for anyone to read his true emotions. Especially after the last incident, Agnes couldn't help but dwell on this suspicion.
Agnes restrained herself, telling herself, "Agnes, you need to focus on the evidence. Your brother might not be that kind of person. Maybe it's all just a big misunderstanding." Agnes hoped it was all just a misunderstanding.
After hearing Agnes's concerns, Jarvis decided to stay and help her search for clues. Eventually, they found themselves on a west-facing terrace. It was on this terrace that Sean had been shot multiple times and died. The terrace was a wreck, with shattered items everywhere, and even the floor showed signs of gunfire.
Jarvis scrutinized the scene, then suddenly looked up in a particular direction. Agnes quickly asked, "Jarvis, did you find something?"
Jarvis frowned and said, "The pattern of these bullet marks is peculiar."
Agnes asked, "What's peculiar about them?"
Jarvis explained, "You said the attackers burst in from the hall, shooting indiscriminately, and your brother died here on the terrace, hit by several bullets. But the marks here... they don’t seem to have been made by someone shooting from the hall. They appear to be from a sniper positioned at a height."
Agnes felt a chill run through her. A sniper? Could there have been someone else besides the attackers in the hall?
Agnes asked, "Jarvis, can you determine where the shots might have originated based on these marks?"
Jarvis replied, "I'd need to simulate the scene and use some specialized equipment to figure that out, which I don’t have right now."
But Agnes was determined to uncover the truth. "I can arrange for you to have a room here; can you manage it on your own after that?"
Jarvis responded, "I should be able to. Just set it up. As soon as I discover anything new, you'll be the first to know."
